As a child I used my Grandma Hattie Faye's lye soap and was intrigued and fascinated by the cream colored bar with which we scrubbed the collar of Grandpa's work shirts.  Then my mother over the last few years made batches of soap and would be so pleased with her "healthful creation", expounding upon the superiority of these bars.  Mom urged me to make a batch or two with her.....and I was hooked.

We are now making batch after batch of wonderful bars.  As we make these bars and fill them with wonderful oils, scents and herbs from my herb garden, I become even more enchanted with this century-old process.

As I use the bars I cannot contain my excitement for these little jewels.  Some are for troubled skin and some good for babies; in other soaps, the scent may be the main attraction.  However, in all, the purpose is a healthful bar of soap.

I still like the old fashioned bar of Grandma Hattie Faye's, but we've come a long way in knowing which oils are better to use on our skins and the benefits from the vitamins and essential fatty acids found in certain oils.  The organically grown herbs and the essential oils used in our soaps add therapeutic and aromatic value.

Grandma Hattie Faye isn't here to use our soaps, but if she were, I'm sure she'd agree Summit Hill Soaps, all natural, wholesome, and organically sound, are a treat to use.
